HORRIBLE iOS Controls!
Ive enjoyed Real Racing on iOS for a while now and have loved Firemints continued push of airplay features etc. Upon seeing Real Racing on the Mac I quickly purchased it at the relatively steep price (compared to the iOS version).
I primarily purchased the game for playing via iOS. If this is your intent... Dont bother!
At the time of writing, absolutely no instructions can be found in-game or on the App store description for actually using your iOS device to control the Mac version. After searching Firemints site I had discovered that the way to control this game via iPhone/iPad to is open a URL in Safari. As long as your Mac and your iOS device are on the same wifi connection, the browser on your iOS device *should* recognize the game on the Mac (I have no idea what happens with multiple versions of the game running on the network).
This is a TERRIBLE implementation of iOS controls. In the event you steer to the left too much your device assumes you want to view the site in portrait view and thus your cars steering is suddenly switched to the other axis. Also, seeing as how you are looking at the Mac while driving, you might not notice if your hands touch the browsers address bar or search box. Of course doing this interrupts iOSs accelerometer info going to the game and your car inevitably smashes into the wall.
It really does feel like a hack-ish trick to kinda/sorta do the job; NOT the quality I expected from Firemint. Advertising/images on the App store clearly show that Firemint recognizes this as a selling point. My faith in the developer has certainly been lost.
