Glorified iPhone game

Lots of complaints…. Controls are just bad. It uses auto-accelerate, so you’re either flat out or braking. They offer four control options: controller (don’t have one), trackpad (OK, found myself using this the most, but not easy to aim the car into a turn), WASD (choppy turning, can’t adjust angle), or iPhone (just didn’t work). Other cars don’t know how to race. I found myself getting hit a lot by the other cars. If I was passing on an inside line with the right of way, I’d always get hit by the car I was passing. They don’t know how to brake or take a turn either, so when you’re following them they brake too early and you ram right into them. The frustrating bit about this is that the other cars always seem to recover faster from these crashes. My other complaint is that you qualify for every race in last place, which means in a field of 16 cars you have to pass 15 to win. This wouldn’t be such a huge problem, except the races are relatively short and the other cars are terrible at racing, so it’s so much of a challenge just to pass them. If you’re looking for a decent racing sim, don’t waste your money. This is on par with a 2 dollar iPhone app.

A Fantastic Racing Game for OSX!

First, let me start off by telling the developers that they have done a FANTASTIC job in creating this game. The graphics are intensely beautiful, the sound is great, the gameplay is smooth and a joy to experience, and the controls are fascinating. You can either use your keyboard and trackpad, an Xbox 360 controller (The game lets you adapt your controller to the game as the game itself doesn’t natively support it) OR you can use your iPhone to control your car- this is great fun and makes the game feel more natural and realistic. I genuinely love this game and I am very grateful that we Mac users can have a GREAT racing game made for us. True, it isn’t Need For Speed, but it is still pretty amazing in it’s own right. You can’t go wrong with Real Racing 2.

Best Racing Game for Mac!

Really fun especially since I can use my steering wheel with it just wish there was manual transmission but other than that definitely worth the purchase for these beautiful graphics.

A great time for everyone

This is a great game.. I have not had any of the problems stated in reviews by others . Set up is easy and controls are easy to use Turn down steering assist to make car stay on track. great graphics, fun cars and lots of challenge as you progress. I am glad I took a chance on this game, its great fun.

OK Racing

this game has really good reviews, and promising screen shots, but I’ve played a lot and cant get past how dissaapointed I am, there is way too much grinding to get enough money to buy new cars which in racing games should be easy because thats the funnest part of all racing games experimenting with cars and finding your perfect match to "beast” with which doesn’t happen due to how the A.I. never makes mistakes in turns or anywhere you look they just follow the course perfectly which in all games is a big no no. If the A.I. is going to be a "beast” then let us have good cars so that we can even partially be on the same page. Overall if you want a game where you can just sit down and have fun in a fast and approachable game play asphalt 6 but if you really like delving hours upon hours into games that have plenty of content and take a LOT of skill then this is your game (you really need to get used to the weird sensitivity of the driving and there is no drifting… AT ALL.) 7/10 at best

Great Game. Worth the money.

I saw this game on the app store and liked it right away. i looked at the system requirements. it said i need a 2.0 GHz processor. i have the macbook air with the 1.4 Ghz processor. deciding to risk it, i bought it. it downloaded and i ran it. it works absolutely awesome. at the beginning the frames were at a little low. but that left pretty quickly. this game works with any macbook newer than 2012. hope you enjoy. the only thing that this game does not have that i was a little disappointed in was, it is hard to spin the other racers. maybe i just miss the point of racing. GREAT GAME. DONT BE SCARED TO BUY.

This is the best racing game on a Mac period, Don’t look anywhere else.

This is an awsome game, lots high end cars, cool tracks and great controlls with the iPhone, BUT the fact that you have to have wifi to use your iPhone, iPod as a controller is very annoying. Almost every day that I play this game it looses connection with my divide. I REALLY WISH that I could be able to conect my phone to my mac using bluetooth to control the car. This would be awesome. This means that it dosn’t matter how fast of a wifi connection you have. you could save battery by turning off wifi while playing. Best of all. I you could play this on an airplane, airport, car or other places where wifi isn’t available easily. The only reason I gave this game 4 stars is because of this feature. Otherwise this is THE BEST RACING GAME OUT FOR MAC. :) ATTENTION DEVELOPERS, PLEASE READ THIS AND AT LEAST CONSIDER MAKING THESE CHANGES. THIS IS THE ONLY FLAW I HAVE EVER FOUND WITH THIS GAME. THANK YOU

worst game ever.

bad graphics. freezing, not real, not fun. i think this game is worst racing game in app store.

A Little Tip For Controller Fans Out There….

Bought it back in June of 2012, played it using a Mac Mini Late 2006 with an Intel Integrated GMA 950, it didnt play the smoothest nor was it supported according to the game info. Aside from that i played the beggining and eventually just stopped playing it. Just got a new MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch so i wanted to try it out again and see if i could get back into it and how it played, on my new machine which uses Intel Iris it played buttery smooth. No stutter, it didnt get hot and i didnt hear the fans kick on to a loud setting. I was able to play with my wireless xbox 360 controller using a windows adapter thing with the tattiebottle driver version 11 installed. Version 12 and the unofficial version 13 did not work with OS X 10.10, i tried everything and could not get it to work, then i was reading a thread and someone mentioned 11 working but as soon as they updated to 12 it stopped. So i decided i would try 11 and bam, my controller was connected as soon as i restarted after installing. Perfect! Just wanted to mention that so if anyone wanted to use their controller but couldnt figure out why it wasnt working! Use Version 11! Aside from all that, EA when the heck is Real Racing 3 coming to the Mac App Store?!

it’s not working!!!!

i bought this game but it doesn’t open!!! return my money!

Dad looking for Driver training for 14-yr old daughter

Configuring my own simulator to get some hand/eye coord for my daughter before she goes out in her car for real. Got the Thrustmaster Racing Wheel (Ferrari) and pedals for $70. Downloaded this racing game as a cheap trial to see if wheel and pedals were good enough - now I am addicted. Running on an old 2009 iMac core-two duo with 8GB memory. Runs great. Graphics are good and the physics are fairly good in the HARD mode with Anti-skid off and the other auto stuff off. I have raced a Miata on a real road course and have always been critical of a lot of bad physics models in race games. This one is probably not perfect - but for $13, how can you beat it. Install was mindless and the USB connection was automatic on the Thrustmaster (read some reviews of guys having problems - but probably on a Windows machine). If anyone knows of a Car Driving Simulator for MAC OS, please leave a thread to it - only one I found is Windows based.

Eeentertaining

Yay! for! this! game! You should get it pplz!

good

runs nice on macbook pro 2011

One of the Best Racing Games in its Genre!

This is without doubt one of the best racing games I have ever played. This statement is coming from someone who has decades of experience in the Racing Game Genre. The only racing games that are a close equal are Need for Speed Shift & Shift 2, and a couple of the very early Need for Speed games from Electronic Arts. Everything about this game (Real Racing 2) is perfect! The Physics, the graphics, the controls, the style of racing, and the layout of the game as far as progression through the game. Perfect! I have no affiliation with this company at all. I am just a happy consumer of an excellent racing game. My only wish is they would come out with Real Racing 3 for the Mac. Wow! Talk about being in Heaven. Yup! That wold just about do it for me! 5 Star Rating all the way! I wish I could give it a higher rating because this game deserves it without question. I guaranteed you WILL NOT be disappointed in your purchase if you are into the genre of gaming. Live Life in the Fast Lane! PS I have been playing this game for weeks (close to a month) and have enjoyed every hour of it. After you have finished the game, you can make your standing in the world better by the use of the Time Trials. LOVE IT!

this is stresfulll

this game is not very fun because it is soo hard and i cant stand it anymore please make it easier

wont start

I played this game once on my mac and the second time i wanted to play it, it wouldn’t go past the real racing 2 loading screen. I tried multiple times to delete the game and install it still no solution.

A Problem

To whomever this may concern, I just downloaded this game for $12. I waited paitently for about 5 minutes for it download and preceed to open the appilcation. Upon opening, I get a warning message that says this game is damaged adn that it cannot be opened. I did as it said- deleted it and reinstalled it. The same situation happened about reinstalling it. Can someone give me an answer as to how to get a refund or how to be able to play this game? And Apple, if you are reading this or the report that was automattically sent to you, please help. I am a loyal Apple consumer and I did not spend $12 for a faulty game. Thank you.

What used to be a fun racing app no longer runs on ElCapitan. As seen in the title says it all….and EA isn’t respnding to my emails! 12.99 down the drain

Love the game but it now fails to start whenever i try to load

I began playing the game a few months ago and for whatever reason i ended up uninstalling it from my computer. I am now going back to reinstall it and whenever I try to open it, it fails to open and a message pops up telling me to reinstall the application, which I have tried multiple times. Great game but i am becoming FRUSTRATED
